Osimo is a South African company with its primary business to carry out high quality in situ testing for the geotechnical fraternity.
We take pride in providing professional piezocone probing services with excellent data quality and data interpretation. Our services add value to our clients’ contracts. Osimo undertakes constant research to improve our equipment and quality when new technology becomes available.
Osimo has gained extensive experience in the field of piezocone probing, mainly in mining and large construction developments. We work closely with consulting engineering companies to provide high-quality data for use in analysis and design.
We are a small enterprise with 15 full-time staff members with probe rigs in South Africa and West Africa ensuring that we can mobilise at short notice.
We are a level 4 BBBEE contributor.

Prof. Eben Rust is the founder of the company and has extensive knowledge in the Geotechnical field. He is a pioneer in the field of piezocone testing and he personally scrutinises all output that goes to the client.
Our highly trained technicians and operators have over 80 years' experience collectively. The team undergoes regular training in order to keep up with the latest trends. Each dedicated team member will go the extra mile to fulfil the requirements for every project.
EXPERIENCE
OSIMO has gained extensive experience in the field of piezocone probing, mainly in mining and large construction developments. We work closely with consulting engineering companies to provide high-quality data for use in analysis and design. We have also had great success with our over water projects in joint ventures with a major drilling company.
HISTORY
Osimo was established in 2001 with one full-time and 2 part-time employees. Before 2001 Prof. Rust carried out many piezocone projects since the early 80’s. More recently we have grown into a mature small business employing 15 full-time employees. The company is an independently-owned company operating in South Africa, SADC countries, the rest of Africa and the middle East. Osimo has shown gradual growth since its inception in 2001.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Osimo is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the environment. We commit ourselves to the protection of the Environment in which we operate.
The key points of our strategy to achieve this are:
· Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
· Prevent pollution and preserve water, soil and ecological resources.
· Provide appropriate Environmental training.
· Comply with the outcome of Environmental audits
· Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Osimo places high priority on the safety and health of all our employees, business associates and clients. We have revised our HSE system in 2014, ensuring that our system can be tailored to the needs of each project and recent clients expressed their satisfaction in this regard. We have obtained the services of Dr. Brian Rademeyer who is an HSE specialist and completed his NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety in June 2015. The HSE system is continuously being revised and improved upon.
